I have a Win2000 pro laptop with a partitioned hard drive (C&D). I am
attempting to install Win98 on the D drive but Win2000 will not allow and
instructs to install from MS-Dos. Any suggestions on how to restart my
machine to go directly to MS-DOS?

Hi, you have to install first win98. So you have to start
from "0" if you want to have the two operative systems.
Install win98 on C and win2k in D.
Good Luck!

Not so. Third party applications such as:

Partition Magic

http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/

Partition Commander

http://www.v-com.com/product/pc8_ind.html

can be used to create a dual boot environment without reinstalling Win 2000.
Be careful though as these programs can be hazardous to your data's health
if used incorrectly. I'd say that someone who tried to install Win 98 via
the Win 2000 command prompt needs a lot more study before trying to
repartition and construct a dual boot system. Get someone's help.
