Startup white strip

S

Scion

I have tried to install IE v. 8 but failed after that, my windows xp pro sp
III failed to start up always I got a message of missing some registry files
and informed me to use the Window XP CD to fix it. Through safe mode I did
system restore and the problem of start up has been solved. Now everything
works fine but I got a new problem of a "white strip" every time when I
startup my computer.

Therefore, I request for help to fix this problem.

If you are talking about the "white bar" that starts from the left and
expands to the right, this is normal. It has been part of the start-
up processes since Windows 2000 (if not earlier) and you can see this
is your PC "start-up" takes time. Check and clean up your start-ups.

I never have this "white bar" that starts from the left to the right before.
As I mentioned before only it shows after I tried to install IE demo version
8.

Sometimes my computer start up takes very long time sometimes it does not, I
do not know why. I do regular disk defragmentation and clean up.

OS is XP Pro SP 3 CPU Amd Athlon (tm) 64 3500+ 2.21GHz and 3.00 GB of RAM
and HD has still 30 GB free space.

I tried to install logitect quickcam pro 9000's latest update software and
drivers but it also failed to install now I use the previous version.

I firmly believe that something goes wrong with my computer but I do not
like to reinstall the OS to solve this problem.

Therefore, I am requesting your help.

Sincerely,

Scion

PS. English is not easy for me, sorry

Every XP has this bar. Most of the time, the boot process is fast
enough the get the bar to disappear.
