Startup Programs

How do I change what programs are automatically run during
a system startup. In my case every time I start windows
some exe writes a proxy address to mt internet options, I
think I have identified the exe but cannot remove it from
my startup script?

Goto Start>>Run>>type "msconfig", goto the "Startup" tab
and try uncheck a few things that could be writing that
info.
