Startup Programs to remove

K

kezz

Hi.

I have a program that starts on windows boot up.

It's an application that runs Pacard Bells, setup computer, and places an
icon on taskbar.

I have dissabled this using msconfig, but get the selective startup message
(which I have told not to show again)

My Question is

Can this be removed from the startup list? (not just un-checking it so it
doesn't start)

Maybe a reg setting where it will be hiding where i can delete it so I can
run normal start up.

I hope you understand what i'm trying to say.

It's in the head but coming out of the fingers is a different matter :)

So when I go to msconfig, and click the startup Tab, I don't want to see
this listed there.

Thanks

Kezz

%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

You can delete the shortcuts that you no longer want to run.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can delete the string value for the program you no longer want to run.

Hi Dave

Delay

Soz, done those things and nothing found leading me to the program in
question.

The program is located in c:/Apps/SMP/smpsys.exe

It is an Application and not a shortcut

When I go to Start > Run > Type msconfig > then click the Statup Tab. It's
listed in there to startup.

Is it possible to delete or remove items that are in this statrup tab?

Thanks Dave

And thanks to anyone else that may answer.

Yes, it is. Run regedit.exe

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can delete the string value for the program you no longer want to run.

Yes, you can just export the key to a *.reg file before deleting.
