I downloaded a demo program that reset my display to the
lowest level available. Every time I boot up my computer
the display gets reset to this level. I can't find how I
find the programs that are run during the startup
process. The initial boot shows the correct resolution
and then during the loading of additional programs the
display gets reset. I have done the following:

1. looked in add/remove progrmas (not there)
2. discovered the msconfig utility and booted selectively.

How can I fine the startup script, identify the program,
and remove it?

All help is appreciated!!!

First, try to uninstall the program via Add/remove programs
Than go to Start > run > type in "msconfig" and enter
Go under Startup and look for the itme that cause this problem.Untick it.
Some trial and error is needed.
Look here for clues http://www.sysinfo.org/startupinfo.php

Melvin:

I know the piece of software that caused the problem. I
didn uninstall it using add/remove programs.

I used the msconfig program to review and deactivate all
of the startup programs but still have the problem.

I also printed out the page from the link and using
regedit I could not find the HKLM entries. I did find
several Run & RunOnce entries but none of them appear to
be the problem (could be wrong)

I only have this problem under my user.(if that helps any.

I appreciate your help!
