I have set up my pc to automatically logon. It is a home pc, so no need for
a password, however, after a period of time, it reminds me to change the
password....which is "blank" anyway. So, when it requests I change the
password, I duly say ok and then proceed to enter, and my password has been
changed from blank to blank again!!! How can I stop this annoying message
from coming up? I never put a password in anyway.

Also, I would like to format my computer and would like to know, can I have
one user, that is the default user as well as the admin? In my computer,
under documents and settings, is there no way of just having one user?? ie
just have say "shaz" instead of "all user", "default user" & "shaz"???

Thanks
Shaz

As Far as I know it isnt possible to have only one folder in Documents and
Settings. for password problem:
Click Start - run - type "Control Userpasswords2" without quotes and press
enter. You will see a checkbox named "Users must enter a user name and
password to use this computer." uncheck it. Click Ok

Here is a step-by-step on how to stop the password expiration:

As for your second question, XP is a multi-user modern operating system. It
is not like Win9x/ME. The All Users and Default User belong to the system
and do not represent actual different users. Leave them alone and don't
worry about them.

Thanks Malke, that should do the trick.

Tell me, is there anyway around having to type "control userpasswords2", as
I will forget that one. Can you not do it from the control panel at all?

Burak, thanks for your response. Unfortunately, that was unticked, so I
never have to enter a password when I login, however when it expires, it asks
me to change the password.....even though the login screen still doesn't come
up. The problem was exactly as malke said....set it to never expire.

You only need to do that once to change the setting that expires your
password. Print out the instructions and you won't need to remember them.

You're a funny one....the paper will get lost!!! I see in Kelly's korner
there is a way of adding it to the control panel or something....so will look
into it further & give it a try
