Help Deleted wrong user!

S

Shaz

Oh boy! I am having a bad day! I have deleted the wrong
username! While I was trying to create a logon disclaimer
screen..something went wrong and it created a replica of
the user on the computer, with the same name, but not
bringing across all the settings!

I know that under C:\Documents and Settings, you get all
the users and I know I can access my information from
there....

The problem is....I have got 50 machines connected to my
printer, which means now they are unable to print, as the
profile they were connect to has been deleted! How do I
get that profile back??

I don't want unnecessary accounts on my pc, so before, I
was the administrator, but logged on to my pc with Shaz
and then a password....this is how everyone else should
log on...but now the logon is in fact administrator and
shaz no longer works....how do I combine the two??
Create a Shaz profile, with administrative rights and all
the details in the Shaz profile (that is only accessible
under C:\Documents and Settings)

Any, or all help will be greatly appreciated, as I have
managed to make a huge mess up!!!

Type copy profile in help. But this has nothing to do with local secirity policy.

type in Start Run
control userpasswords2

which gets the grown up version of user accounts (and what is in control panel if one is on a domain). Which is more accurate of the accounts on the computer.

ok cool...thanks...I will try and see what I actually have
on the pc, when I get back to work.

But how do you create a new user, using the old profile
under documents and settings??

You create a user, then use copy profile to copy old profile over new. Are you on a domain?

Will have to look for "copy profile" when I get to work as
well!!

I would assume I am on a domain??!!! Not really sure what
that is though! I am on a network....shows how I lack
knowledge!

Do you see a welcome screen. If not make sure you're logging on to the correct thing - local machine or domain. There's a place to choose in the logon dialog.

And if you are on a domain you set it in Active Directoery on the domain not Local Sec Pol on local computer.
