Can someone please help.

My computer tried to download service pack 2 & 3 for windows xp it failed to
install.
Since then my computer has taken 2-5 min to load where befor it would take
1min -1min 30sec can someone please tell me what i should do without loseing
my important work? Thank You
 
You must have a really special release of Windows XP or a specail Windows
update link since I never was lucky enough to get to Service pack 3 for
WinXP ;)

But maybe the Service Pack 2 was partially downloaded and installed?
 
Save your important work first, then try a repair install from the XP CD.
