html images disappear in stationery - outlook 2003

I have had someone create my own personalised html stationery for use in
outlook 2003. The stationery is made up of approximately 4-5 html images,
which together form the complete stationery.

The problem I am having is that the stationery appears fine when I am
composing an email, however if I take too long to write the email (usually
longer than about 30sec-1min) then the images in my stationery turn into
blank white boxes (like an image that hasn't yet loaded on website).

I have tested sending emails within my organisation as well and these blank
white boxes often show on the receiving end - which defeats the whole purpose
of having the stationery.

Is there a way around this issue? Are there some settings in outlook that
need to be changed to prevent this occurring?

FYI - i have already changed the "automatic download settings" in the
security tab of options menu so that outlook automatically downloads images -
don't think this has helped.

Are these blank windows with a little red X? Or just completely blank?
