Start-up query

Hi all,

I recently installed a program on my computer that caused problems, I was
not able to boot the computer. I managed to get the offending program off
my computer, but now when I start up my computer I see the following screen:

-------
Please select the operating system to start:

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Microsoft Windows Recovery Console

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.
Press ENTER to choose.
Seconds until highlighted choice will be started automatically:

For troubleshooting and advanced startup options for Windows press F8
-------

Why do I get this screen? It never used to appear before I had the problems
with the program that caused my computer not to be able to boot. Is this
screen significant, is there something I need to repair on my computer? If
everything is OK, someone tell me how I can disable this screen.

Regards,
C.B.

Rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Advanced>Startup and
Recovery-Settings>Edit>Highlight and Delete this line
C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons. Or
you can just change the
Time to Display List of Operating Systems from 30 to 1.
