Hi dovelight,

How many user accounts are there in your system? Are the user accounts
password protected? If you've configured automatic logon in the past, you
can undo that by using the steps listed here.

Hello,

a great advice:
install Linux, you'll get back the control of your computer...
(with Windows you share your account not only with your kids, but also with virus makers, non privacy respecting companies, and maybe others I forgot...)

Take a look at knoppix.org for trying it without having to install, then mandriva or ubuntu for installing it.
You can keep the two systems the first weeks/months, so you can slowly adapt yourself to it.
It's really worth the effort.
