Start Menu

The Start Menu is appearing on my Desktop along the left-hand side of my
screen,
with headings :Folder Tasks/Other Places/Details.
How to remove or hide this ?

Start | Run | Type: regsvr32 /i shell32 | Click OK |
Restart Windows.

Scroll down to:
15. Remove Common Tasks from the Desktop

RemoveCommonTasksFromDesktop.reg is the file that you want.
