After downloading an update from the Windows Update site,
I somehow managed to "lose" the shortcut to Microsoft Word
on my Start Menu (click Start, Programs, and the shortcut
that was normally there is now gone). The program still
exists.

Does anyone know how to get the shortcut back onto Start,
Programs???

Go to "Windows Explorer" in Accessories, & go to "program
files" folder and "Microsoft office" folder. Check the
sub-folders and find the programs, Excel, Word, PP,
Access, Front Page, Outlook, and others. Right click and
go to "create short-cut" on each of them and then move the
short-cuts where you want them, or roll back registry by
right-clicking on "my computer" and go to properties and
the tab to roll back.
