All Programs Start Menu Ordering

right,

if you select "enable draging and dropping" from start
menu->properties->start menu customize->advanced you are meant to be able to
drag your shortcut icons into any order you desire...

how come this does NOT work!

if i switch to classic start menu everything is ordered as i
desire...however under the xp start menu after i have dragged the order of
the folders and shortcuts to what i want they will reorder themselves
whenever i log off and on again or whenever a new shortcut is added to
anywhere in the start menu...

this is a tad annoying...

does anyone have a solution for this?

not what i asked actually...

i dont have a problem organising my start menu...

what i want is for windows to stop reordering it after i have dragged and
dropped it into the order i want!

If I am interpreting your question correctly, Right click anywhere in the
menu and select sort by name. If you don't do this each time you make an
addition, WinXP does what it wants. It does not automatically alphabetize
except in Explorer.

and i DONT want it sorted by name - i want it in the order i choose...

this only happens using the windows xp theme start menu...if you use the
windows classic theme start menu it does not reorder it

there is clearly a bug in windows xp...
