Start menu does not appear at startup

prob 1 - sounds like explorer.exe is not running, so do a new task as you
said and browse for C:/Windows/explorer.exe.
this doesn't really solve anything in the long run though, although you'd
get your desktop back i think. could you possibly copy a shortcut to explorer
into the startup folder in the program menu and see if that worked? not sure
about it but you could try

Hi

I have a Dell laptop with windox xp.suddenly i have started facing two
problems.

1) On startup i dont see any start menu.Nor i see any short cuts on my
desktop.I have to use ctr+ alt+del to open task manager and then select
new task to start any program.Pls tell me how to bring back the start
menu.


2)when i am typing suddenly control goes back few characters in a same
line and it starts overwriting those character.


Pls help me.
