Running XP, SP2. This is recent behavior, I cannot link it to anything
I've done that could cause such a change.
Windows Explorer is open, right click on a folder, select "rename" from
dropdown menu, XP locks. Not only is explorer.exe frozen, so too are all
other apps running, even though they are NOT shown as "not running" in
the Task Manager.
I cannot open the task manager by right clicking the taskbar (it's
locked that tight) but I can invoke it through
<Ctrl><Alt><Del><TaskManager>.
If I end explorer.exe as a task, XP unlocks and other apps become
functional again. Notwithstanding, the Norton Internet Security icon in
the system tray disappears, though opening NIS shows that everything is
running.
I'm stumped. Any suggestions?
