Autostart of WinExplorer does NOT work ?

C

Claudia Miller

I want to quto-start WinExplorer immediately after booting.
Normally I start WinExplorer succesfully by clicking a Shortcut icon
on the desktop with the following parameters:

Target: %Systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,/select,D:\work

When I put exactly this shortcut into the startup folder no WinExplorer is opened at startup.
Moreover if I click this entry in the start menu I got thefollowing error:

The name "%Systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,/select,D:\work" specified in the Target box is not valid.
Make sure the path and file name are correct.

Hey what? Path and file exist! I can start it from Desktop. Why not from stratup folder?

Have you tried a full pathname instead of the variable %systemroot% ?

If you paste:
%Systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,/select,D:\work
into Start | Run
Does the folder open?

Why not just use D:\work ?

Hope this helps. Let us know.
