How to save the window position and dimension of WinExplorer for later re-opening?

After having adjusted the position and dimension of the Windows Explorer window I closed it
(after some other work). Later I restarted it (from a shortcut on my desktop).
But the new WinExplorer windows will be NOT opened at the last position and with the last
dimensions but much smaller in the mid of the screen.

From other systems (Win2000) I know that WinExplorer can remember its last position and
dimension when re-opened.

How do I achieve this under WinXP?

..1. Open a page
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. click on file then close
5. try opening it again see if that helped
