Start button won't work!

The start button on my hp laptop has lost it's ability to function. When I
click on it the menu opens but when I try to open 'All Program' or 'Run'
nothing happens. Anyone with any ideas as to why this is happening?

Rightclick the Start button/click Open/when it opens click Tools/Folder options/under General tab click Restore Defaults button, then click Apply and OK. If that fails, then you may have to do a Restore of your system to before the problem started, you can go back up to 90 days.
