Standby

When I press enter to turn my computer back on while in
standby mode the screen will not turn back on until I
manually turn the the whole computer off and on again.

I'm not sure I understand how you "manually" turn the whole computer off and
on again; however, hitting the space bar might wake it up. It does for me.
(Admittedly, I've never tried Enter to wake it up.)
