Standby - Won't awaken

1024 RAM
USB Microsoft Keyboard
USB Microsoft Optical Mouse - enabled use to awaken system on standby
All drivers are current

Monitor is set to turn off at 10 minutes

System won't awaken after entering standby.

The following applies to a couple of laptops I've seen. These used S3
as the STANDBY state (as opposed to S1), and required a push of the
power button to come out, regardless of any other settings for the
mouse, keyboard, etc.

I don't know if the above is true for all computers that use S3 as
their STANDBY state, but pressing the power button briefly is the only
way to come out of standby on these machines. Perhaps yours is the same?
