StandBy option missing

Mike

I just installed XP Pro on a clean, formatted disk. The StandBy option is
missing from Start-Turn Off Computer. I have Hibernate, Turn Off and
Restart. It's also mission on the Power Schemes tab in Control Panel. This
is an old machine, old bios. I looked in device manager, system devices and
I do not see anything for APM or ACPI - but I do have the Hibernate option.
Weird. Any suggestions?

Visit the website of the manufacturer of your computer
or video card and download/install the appropriate Windows XP
drivers.

Afterward, right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Setting and adjust your Screen Resolution
settings, then select "Highest (32 bit) Color Quality setting,
and click "apply".
