Standby just hangs - running out of things to try!

When I try to put my computer into standby, it just sits there with that blue
screen that says "Preparing to Standby". I've updated all my drivers, and
tried rebooting in diagnostic mode. It started acting like this a couple of
weeks after installing SP2. Does anybody have any suggestions?
 
Well since it was "aa couple of weeks" you can rule out SP2 side effect.
What other things did you change AFTER SP2 and the START of the problem?
