Standby/Hibernate, pc turns right back on

Hi all,

First of all, I just want to say that I did try searching for a
solution before coming here, but everything I found was related to
getting standby/hibernate enabled.

When I try to put my machine into standby or hibernate, it looks like
it's going through the motions, but then appears to immediately boot
up again. I'm just not sure where to look, and what settings to check,
to allow my computer to hibernate properly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
