Ok I know it's old (ish) now and yes, I bought it (cheap) first time around, didn't like it and sold it.

But today I saw an immaculate copy in a charity shop for a quid so bought it, reasoning that the first time around I hadn't tried the all-inclusive mod and the weapons mod.

Installed into Win 7 it ran fine. Installed huge (700Mb) Mod and it crashes.

Tried same thing on Win XP and get same results.

I have downnloaded huge mod and weapons mod from Here

Am I doing something wrong?

I suppose it's possible I could have a corrupt download - opinions?

Is that the correct mod?

Yep thats the mod you want, the complete '09 one.

not sure why its crashing though, is the game fully patched before you apply the mod?

No, it isn't, is that perhaps the solution?

I don't know for sure, but i'd say try patching the game fully then installing the mod.

If that doesn't work then i'm not sure...

No harm in trying and I'm just about to. There's about 4 or 5 patches and I can't seem to determine whether the last one covers all so will probably d/l the lot.

Yeah i think you have to do the lot rather than the last one having all the fixes from the previous version. Cant remember the correct name they call it atm...

Here's my 'Stalker mods & patches' folder, all have been applied:

In fact, at the begnning of installing the full mod the guide says 'make sure you're patched to V5.00 before installing'. Oops, didn't notice that last night

In fact I patched it to V6.0 as V6.0 was released after the mod was published, it worked ok.

Right then, let's give this game another chance, I'm not mad keen on stealth games usually but lots of folks have enjoyed this game so I'll give it a fair crack of the whip.

And you can make random saves, now there's a luxury that's becoming rarer.
