ANY IDEAS? PLEASE HELP.

Your error correction step is obvious?

Error : SQL Server Setup cannot write system databases to
c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\, because it
contains files from a previous installation. To continue, move the databases
from the specified folder, or specify a different installation folder. Then
run SQL Server Setup again.

You have no choice in where you will put the database files as part of the
integrated installer. What other database applications are installed on this
system? Following this advice may break something else if you have other
database applications. Note that you may not be aware if an application is
using an MSDE instance.

Good Day leonid, and Thank you!
I have access2007 installed. I have nothing in it and really do not care if
something goes wrong with it. BCM is critical for me.
Can you give me a step-by-step to take care of it?

Access shouldn't be interfering all that much, otherwise that could be a
pretty serious bug since it'll be included in the same package with Office
Professional and above. We refer to each separate sqlserver.exe process as
"instance". You can have quite a few of them on the same machine. MSDE is
the predecessor of SQL Server Express. MSDE services' names start with SQL,
so for all intents and purposes, they are an SQL server instance.

Confirmed, my Access opens fine and by default it doesn't create an SQL
Express instance.

I think it's a different application that's breaking this.

Contact management, accounting, custom line of business application. Act and
Quickbooks rely on MSDE, for example. My neatreceipts program relies on MSDE
as well. You can figure out what instances of SQL are running on your system
in services.msc. You'd look in MSSQL$InstanceName as well as SQL Server
(InstanceName) where instance name is what the service is called. MSSQL
without the $ sign is the default instance. Additionally, you can download
SQL Server Express Management Studio to work with SQL instances directly and
then there are command line tools.

I can typically correct this kind of issues remotely, but there would be a
charge for that service. It won't take much time to figure out what is the
source for the conflicting data files is, but figuring out how to move them
safely without breaking the host application could be interesting.
