I know that there is software out there in which someone can 'spy' on you
from inside the house........
how can I tell if that soft of thing is installed on my computer? (I am the
administrator, not on a home network)

What do you mean by "spy?"

The usual definition of "spyware" involves software that logs your web
visits and contacts the mother ship with that information. The data are used
for various purposes, mainly to serve up advertising.

There's another kind of "spy" software: the kind that logs your keystrokes
and screen displays then either stashes them for later retreival or sends
them on along to a surveillance team that's monitoring what you do.

As for the former, there are a number of software programs that can detect
and remove them. SuperAntiSpyware and Ad-Aware are two.

Regarding the latter, if you have nothing to hide, don't worry. The
lookout-team will soon grow bored and move on.

I guess then I am not talking about spyware. I have nothing to hide, however
I have a feeling someone is getting into my personal emails. Just wanted to
know how to detect and/or find out if in fact that is happening
