Spyware Guard & MS antispyware

Is it OK to have both of these running - they both
intercept nasties, but I
wonder if there would be a clash if they both tried to
work at once.

FWIW, the help file for Microsoft Antispyware says that there aren't any
known issues with other products in this area.

It does recommend turning off active protection during the installation of
Microsoft Antispyware.
