I went to some site a week ago and I got infected by virus and spywares,
window ask me to download anit-spyware software but whenever I plug in the
cable it started downloading virus and pop-ups :/ Finally I got a trial
software from my friend and clean up everything in my computer, it seems to
work fine until I got a message. One of my program just freeze (as usual,
this is not the problem), so I decided to hit "ctrl - alt - delete" to bring
out the Task Manager to stop the program. Now here comes the problem! A
message came up and say: "Task Manager has been disabled by your
administrator." then just let me click [ok]. What the hell!? I AM the
administrator! I can't use the Task Manager now, I'm pretty sure it must have
something to do w/ those spyware b4 I clean them, now that my computer is
fine, where should I go to re-enable Task Manager?? its not like I can't work
without Task Manager, but I dont wanna turn off my computer everythime
something freeze. Please help me.

First, if you are connecting to the Internet via Cable/DSL, get a NAT
Router to protect you while you clean/rebuild your computer.

Next, you've got to learn to use SAFE MODE when cleaning infections and
you need to understand that cleaning a system may not leave it in a
usable state. Often times you end up with left-over issues once the
system is clean.

So, reboot into safe mode and run your AV and cleaning software again -
it should get about 98% of the bad things.

Now, if I were in your place I would just wipe/reinstall everything from
scratch - there is no way to guarantee that you machine is really clean,
even if all the products tell you it is, they are just reactionary and
do a good job, but they are not foolproof.

What you need to learn most of all is HOW YOU GOT INFECTED and then you
have to resolve not to let that happen again.

Here is some good information on things you need / can do:

Only download software you can validate as uncompromised - in the case
of non-vendor site you have no guarantee that the files are unmodified
or uncompromised. Anyone providing a link to a non-vendors site with a
direct download should not be trusted, the vendors sites are the safest
place to download their application.

Always remember - only download files from Trusted Sites.

After you install any of these applications and update them, run them in
SAFE MODE to allow them to properly clean your system.

These sites are for downloading Anti-Spyware tools, in order that I
would use them myself:

AdAwareSE can be found here:
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

SpyBot Search and Destroy can be found here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

HiJack can be found here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Ewido Security Suite Trial can be found here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

CrapCleaner can be found at the vendors site here:
http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp

CleanUp can be found at the vendors site here:
http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/download.html
or from another reputable source:
http://www.tucows.com/get/405276_152071

The following are two links to Antivirus software in order that I would
use them:

You can also download Symantec Trial version of their Antivirus software
from here:
http://www.symantec.com/downloads/

Download AVG Personal Free edition from here:
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

These are the actual vendors sites, not some unknown or authorized no-
name site. They also don't artificially increase the hits for sites that
get paid for the amount of traffic they can generate like one poster has
admitted to in this group.

Press the CRTL/ALT/DEL keys at the same time, if you don't get the Task
Manager then it's likely that it's corrupted.

As for your machine, if it were mine, I would have already wiped it and
reinstalled. If you have a real Windows XP CD you can try the
repair/reinstall, it's like reinstalling, but it keeps all your settings
and your programs still work, but it replaces all the main files needed
to make XP work - this is your best bet if you are not going to do a
clean install.

I have a reg files that should fix that for you. You can download it here.

fix to everything is to wipe your system and reload. Ignore him.

I have a reg files that should fix that for you. You can download it here.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER download files from an unconfirmed quality site -
the BUTTS sites are known to have unauthorized software on them and
that's just what we can print here.

I would never install a REG file put on a unconfirmed site and not
without understanding it either.

As for the comment about wiping your machine - it's a good bet for you.

Ignore anyone with butt in their website name as it's likely to be full
of sh!t - as is the poster of that site.

Leythos does not have the mental capacity to understand how computers works
let alone a reg files that's why his only remark is to format your system.
My post really set him off because there is nobody he can send an email to
to complain about that reg file on my website. The file should fix your
system. You can trust me and use it to fix your system or you can trust
Leythos and format your system. My fix takes less then 5 seconds.
