splell checker

I just reformatted my hard drive and now when I type a word doc. spell check
does not work. I went to tools menu > options . spelling&grammer tab and all
proper boxes appear to be checked.... check spelling as you type, always
suggest corrects, suggestion from main dictionary only, ignor words in
UPPERCASE, Ing words with numbers, Ign Internet& file address. Am I missing
something ???

Check tools > language > set language is configured to your local language,
for which you have the proofing tools installed, that do not check spelling
and grammar and automatically detect language are both unchecked.
