spell check not working should I reinstall?

I reformatted my hard then reinstalled 2003 office. Spell check is not
working I went to tools>options>spell & Grammer tab and boxes check spelling
as you type, always suggest corrections,Ignore words in UPPER CASE, Ign.
words with numbers, Ign.internet and file addresses boxes are checked.
should I reinstall office 2003 maybe its a glitch why spell check is not
working ?????
