Spellcheck issues

Suddenly, in the middle of working on a document, spell check has stopped
working. I have tried cutting and pasting onto a document which was okay, but
still nothing. Help! I've checked word options and everything is still ticked
in the relevant boxes. I'm really stuck without it.
