I am having trouble with the speed of my computer. I have
a cable hook up and it is not much faster that my old dial
up! Someone mentioned that it may be my drivers. Also,
could it be the modem settings or set up? Or would it
something else? I am not real computer savy so please
explain in detail. HELP ! I appreciate any advice !!!

It could be any of a large number of potential causes and probably depends
on what applications you're running. A bad driver or bad device. Messed up
BIOS settings. Insufficient memory. Fragmented filesystems. Hardware
errors. Poorly written software. Etc. Worse, it could be a combination of
these problems.

It's impossible to diagnose the problem without more information.

If it's an old computer, consider getting a new one. If it's a reasonably
new machine, find someone who has appropriate experience and get them to
have a look at it.
