SPAM in the guestbook

Our site has a guestbook (frontpage form that posts to an html page) that
keeps getting spammed with ads. I am looking for a way to secure this or
prevent this some how. Any ideas or sggestions would be great. Thanks for the
help.

Google "CAPTCHA". A variation of that would help keep things simple and
accessible.

But you will need to use server-side scripting to determine what's what.

Or by spam do you mean where a HUMAN has posted a link to some other site?
The only thing you can do about that would be to moderate the guestbook....

I have found that renaming the guestbook file cut out a lot of automated spam
the file Guestbook.htm is prone to automated spam

This is a temporary fix.

The spiders that go around indexing servers (your website) will be back and
identify the name change.

As Murray stated, you will have to moderate it.
