Would appreciate some help. I am on dialup and only have
one phone line.
SP4 has been a total disaster for me.
I have a pentium 3 866 256RAM. I built it from parts I
bought separately. I have built computers before but this
one has been the best and most worry free. I run windows
2000 and prior to Service Pack 4 I would have bragged on
Win 2000 against any XP believer.
Recieved an automatic update for sp4 monday once the
system was updated my system has not been the same since.
It took approximately 3 Hrs for the system to load to a
point where I could get to the control panel and
effectively remove sp4 and restore to sp3. It has taken
me several days to learn patience since to get to the
control panel in 3 Hrs I had to keep my hand of the mouse
because and click would activate some other event to occur
be for the contol panel would come up.
Restored system to sp3 went back to windows download and
downloaded sp4 again (sp4 express). The very same problem
occurred again and I with patience removed sp4 from my
system the second time and once again back to sp3.
With all of the upload download events by system now will
generate a SVCHOST.EXE error message and get querpy on me
(Control panel is all messed up) must reboot to bring back
under control.
