I am receiving the same error. I must add that on the machine this is
occuring on, a user not normally on the machine ran the Windows Update
a couple of weeks ago and for some reason, upon logging on it asked
for the Windows CD. Once I placed the CD into the drive, it worked
correctly and if the computer was booted with the CD in the Drive it
logged on OK - no question for the CD.
I uninstalled all of the Pre-SP4 updates from the Control Panel |
Add/Remove. Did not help.
I tried this morning to install SP4 on the system and I am receiving
the same Cryptographic Service message. This has not been installed.
I did test the SP4 on my computer and it worked perfectly.
I hope someone arrives with a solution before I have to erase
everything.
Thanks,
Mike
