SP2 wont install: Access is denied

I can't get SP2 to install properly. I keep getting a message that says
Access is denied. I followed an article from microsoft about changing the
settings on a certain registry key. The article also says to do this for
other keys as well. The only problem is that I can't even acces those keys.
The system says that I don't have access even though I am the administrator
on this computer. The errors are coming up with the following keys.
HKCR\.DVR-MS
..dvr-ms
..CTT\',,messengerContactList\',
Any other ideas.
