SP2 update fails

Just re-installed xp home on a tosjiba laptop with recovery disc. Then
started with all updates etc. System went into standby whilst updating to
SP2. Now showing as failed (every time I try) with error code 0x80070017. All
info I search for give windows ME fixes. Can anyone help please?

From my five minutes of searching, 0x80070017 means CRC error (Cyclic
Redundancy Check), normally caused by a bad CD, bad download, etc.

Delete the download and try again.
