XP SP2 Install Issue

Everytime I go to download SP2, i get an error xmlp_wp.xdr in the middle of
the registry backup.

It fails with the following error -

"An error occurred while copying file xmlp_wp.xdr.

Cannot copy file to destination directory.

Click Retry to retry the operation or click Cancel to"

It then has the two buttons, and the main window says it was was installing
file WIRELESSPROFILE.XDR. Retry does nothing & cancelingl causes the
installer to
look for the file (search brings up, 3 all fail to copy) .

I've tried to use the disc from Microsoft, windows update, reinstalling and
the development full download.

Any suggestions?

Hi Steve . It is always better and preferable to install any service pack on
a new (clean install) of Windows to eliminate any errors that might have
occured during the usage . Obviously something is wrong with your so I would
recommend you keep your Windows XP in that state , make sure it is updated
and when you have some free time , reinstall the Windows .
