Sp2 trashed my computer

2 gig P4, ECS M922 1.0 board, Win XP Pro 2600, 512 mb ram. After install of
sp2 system went into a boot loop. Friend stuck in a boot disk and got it to
stop.
1. Cant hook to internet now, Only thing I can find missing is under Other
Devices in Hardware Manager is Pci Simple Communications Controller Has no
drivers. How can I find a driver that doesnt seem to be listed anywhere by
this name.
All Other driver seem to be from VIA.
2. How Do I Get Rid Of SP2?

No, you failed to prepare your system for the installation of SP2, therefore
*you* trashed your computer.

What an annoying and unhelpful post, Miss. Since when did we, the customers,
decide it was ok for a company's products to NOT work? If MS was in any way
customer-oriented they would abide by their obligation to ensure their
updates are actually beneficial for the customer, and work as intended.
