sp2 settings

Ive had win XP SP2 for a while now but i would like to reset it back to its
default settings, ive tried uninstalling it but it seems to rememeber the
settings it had previously .... any ideas ??

main problem is that the active x blocker doesnt seem to be working anymore,
you know the bit where the 'information bar' pops up and tells you theres an
active x been blocked

if you can tell me where i can find the settings for these that might help

and also if i try to download something from a site like download.com where
the webpage says please wait your download will start soon, well that also
used to pop up something in the information bar, but now it doesnt and i
need to manually start the download, i know its trivial, but its a pain in
the ass

ive tried the obvious things, tools internet options reset to defualts but
still nothing

any ideas out there ....

Hello

You can disable the security umm 'Enhancements' to IE, follow these notes

I guess if you want the information bar back do the reverse of what they say


Also check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875350 if you still wish to
remove SP2.
