Hi,

I'm running Norton Anti-virus 2003 with all of it's
definitions up to date, but Windows Security Center
(included in SP2) still tells me to check status.

Andre.

That is normal.
Apparently Symantec is not updating anything older than 2004 for
Security Center monitoring.
You can disable that in the Security Center.

Mee Too. In the security center, Under Virus Protection,
click 'recomendations'. In there is a check box saying
you will monitor yourself. Check it and close the
security center and that 'At Risk' reminder baloon should
not come back on.

Just checked the Norton Antivirus site....they said that
they will release a fix for this through live update
shortly.

I am running NAV 2002 and getting the same "status is unknown" message.
According to NAV, my protection is enabled. Am I correct in assuming that I
am protected anyway even though the Security Center states otherwise?

Hi

Yes, it is only the status that is unknown (for the Security Center).
The Security Center is only a monitoring service, it adds nothing to
the security level of the computer really.

After installing XP Service Pack 2, the message "Your computer might
be at risk . . . " appears
