SP2 cannot detect NAV 2003 status?

After updating to SP2 from Automatic Update, the Windows Security Center
reports Norton Antivirus is installed, but Status is unknown.

Ran Norton LiveUpdate already and My NAV is up-to-date.

Should I disable status check, or is there a fix to this? Thanks.

Good point!

But I did read through this.
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/sp2/faq.html

With the SP2 RTM release, I thought Symantec would have released a patch
through LiveUpdate now that SP2 is available for public installation via
Automatic Updates. I guess will have to wait till they get it ready.

Thank you for the very quick reply : )

They have released a patch for NAV 2004, but I don't think they have
released one for 2002 or 2001 yet. I would imagine it should be
released soon.

It's not clear that Symantec will actually release an update for
NAV2003. It has done so for the 2004 products, but note on their tech
support page for NAV2003 it says that email and phone support for this
product ends this september. Does that mean they won't bother with an
update? I don't know.

Thank you and others so much for this info.
Looks like I'll leave it for now and see if Symantec will release a fix
later.

| Jeff;
| Symantec changed this page in the last day or so:
|
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...213?OpenDocument&tpre=&csm=no&src=con_web_nam
| It used to also list 2002 & 2003.
| Apparently only 2004 is supported for monitoring by the Security
| Center.

In all likelihood, the fix (and big-time moneymaker for Symantec) will be
upgrading to NAV 2005.
