SP2 & Outlook Express

I have recently installed XP SP2. It all went like a
dream, except when I went to check my e-mail. The D/load
window just sits there, no activity till it times out. I
am using the same settings as prior to the install so
nothing has changed. I have checked and rechecked ALL
settings and they are all correct. I have disabled the XP
firewall and AVG Antivirus but the problem still
remains...

Any and all help much appreciated ...

did you go through the repair procedures? One suspicion is that
some adware caused Winsock corruption. Did you check for adware
at all? Try SpyBot from www.safer-networking.org.
