SP2 killed my wireless!

Charles

I am using an Acer Aspire 2025WLMi notebook, with an
Intel 2200BG wireless network connection.

Before SP2:
I shut the lid on my laptop, it goes into standby, I open
it, it comes out of standby, and my wireless comes right
up flawlessly.

After SP2:
I shut the lid on my laptop, it goes into standby, I open
it, it comes out of standby, and......no wireless!! I
went into system properties and tried to go into device
manager, and where device manager was, Windows Updates
are!!! Turns out they moved the button for Device
Manager up one level...anyway, in Device manager there's
a yellow exclamation point next to my wireless card, and
it reads something like "this hardware has told Windows
it has a problem, so windows killed it." Error code 43.
I can disable, and re-enable my wireless, and it works
fine. Why the hell would SP2 suddenly not like my
wireless, from just going into and coming out of standby?
My laptop has a "wireless on/wireless off" button...when
I shut the lid on the laptop the light for this button
goes off, indicating that wireless is off. When I open
it, the light comes back on, saying it's on...but then
SP2 just apparently hates my wireless card.

I use Intel's PROset to manage my wireless, which SP2
sure isn't happy about, since Windows wants to be in
constant control...

Is this some kind of incompatibility with SP2, or did
Microsoft screw up again? Neither would surprise me in
the least...

I have uninstalled SP2 and now it works fine
again...geez...

Any clues/hints/suggestions would be great!
Thanks,
Charles
