After standby, my wireless connection is not shown

Hi - I am using SP2 Windows XP. I have a USB wireless device which
connects fine to my wireless network.

However, after standby my wireless device does not show. I remove the
USB device and reattach it, but no luck. I tried disable/enable
Wireless adapter in Device Manager, but this doesn't work. I cannot
see a wireless network in Control Panel.

I have to reboot to see the wireless network.

Can anyone suggest - thanks!

1. Make sure that the power saving in the Wireless card configuration is
disabled.
This setting usually can be found in the Network Connection Properties by
clicking on the configuration button of the Network card,

2. Make sure that Windows Power Saving is Not Saving Power of any Network
related activities.
You can control the behavior by looking at the Control Panel and double
click on the Power Saving Icon.
3. Most Laptops, and some desktops comes with active propriety Power Saving
system install by the manufacturer. Read the computer's manual and find how
to disable the Network related Power Saving (if any).
4. Unfortunately due to poor design, in some computers not matter what you
do this phenomenon would persist.
