SP2 incompatible for WMP 9 & 10?

Here's my scenario...

First, I installed SP2.
Then, I installed WMP 10.
This caused me to lose all audio on my PC.

So I did a system restore back to before WMP but after
SP2 (it wouldn't restore before SP2, I tried).

After that, I had no WMP at all, and now when I try to
install any version, It says I'm using an incompatible
version of Windows and the installer stops. The error
message has a link to a non-existant support page.

So, I can't get media player to install, and the restore
took the previous version off, and I can't undo the
restore, either.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Something else entirely. SP2 is compatible with both WMP9 and 10, and
doesn't kill audio (normally, anyway). Are you sure that the audio
wasn't just "turned down"?

Go back to System Restore and choose the option to undo the last
restore.
Then check all volume controls and make sure they are up and none
muted.
Check Advanced for "Digital output only" and change the setting.

Otherwise go to the website of the sound card/computer manufacturer
and get the latest sound drivers.

I had the exact same problem. Resolved after uninstalling SP2. Now WMP10
works perfectly. Hopefully there will be some kind of patch or something
soon.
