WMP 10, video does not play smooth

After upgrading to Windows Media Player 10 (Version 10.00.00.3646) in XP
Home SP2, I noticed the videos (WMV) do not always play smooth. I did not
have this problem in WMP 9.

This annoying problem in WMP 10 occurs when WMV file played locally on the
computer's hard drive. I created a few WMV files from Photo Story 3 and
they play the same way.

Any suggestions to get smooth playing back?

Thanks for the URLs. The FAQ helped me solve my problem. I had to adjust
the video acceleration.
