sp1 watermark

I am using genuine vista after install sp1 manually
I have a watermark on my desktop said "evaluation copy"

Hi:

I was doing some reserach and I found that could be some reasons:

1. The windows vista is a evaluation one. Let us know if you got it a new
laptop or desktop recently.
2. You diod not activate your copy of windows vista. Unsual but maybe.
3. The Sp1 that you have download it a evaluation version. Let us know how
you installed it.

Also if you go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->System, teher you can
check if you have your copy of windows activated amd the version of the Sp1
you have instalated.

If it's showing 'evaluation copy' then you may have a beta version of the
service pack. I did come across this 'glitch' during the initial beta test,
but the 'watermark' disappeared after the system as re-booted.

You can type 'winver' (without the quotes) into the start menu search box
and then press enter to show which version you are actually using. This
should be 'Version 6.0 (Build 6001: Service Pack 1).

You don't say where you manually downloaded it from; have you tried
downloading the 'standalone' version? See this link from my website:
