SP1 and SP2

Can experts offer help.
I installed xp pro last week which has the sp1 addition as a folder on the
disc and that has registered. I did try out breifly that things seemed ok
and continued with adding sp2. The machine then kept rebooting at shut
down so I uninstalled the sp2.
I see from newsgroups that sp2 cant be installed with sp1 present. as the
sp1 does not show as a added programme is there another way of removing so
that I can use sp2

Hi

You can install SP2 with SP1 already installed. Do you remember what error
messages, if any, you saw when the PC was rebooting or did you have a look
in the Event Viewer to see if entries there may have tied up with the
rebooting?
